September 2020 in Las Vegas
I stayed at Caesars Palace a few years ago, but this was my first time in an Octavius room. These rooms are in the Octavius Tower located on the southern end of the property. Once I checked in, the first thing I realized is how far away from the lobby this tower is. The walk from the lobby to my room was quite a hike, especially after a long day of travel and with all my luggage. If you decide to stay in the Octavius Tower and are like me (no longer a spring chicken), I would suggest having the Bell Desk take care of your luggage!
The Room
The room itself was very nice! There was 550 square feet of space, which is larger than the average hotel room, which included a king-sized bed with a pillow top mattress and plenty of pillows, all very comfortable. In the corner there was a nice sitting area with a large couch, a small table, and another chair, enough room if you plan to have a few friends stop by for a drink. If you tend to work while on vacation, there is also a desk with enough room for a laptop. However, if you work and need Wifi, the connection was hit and miss. And for those times when you just want to relax in the room, there was a 42-inch high-definition television with a decent amount of channels.
The Bathroom
The bathroom was nicely sized, with a double sink vanity and 2 mirrors. There was also a very nice jetted tub and a separate shower. The shower was a good size, although not as large as some that I have had in higher-end hotels. I did not use the tub, but the water pressure in the shower was great and there was plenty of hot water. The toilet was behind a door that could be closed for privacy, which I always appreciate! There was even a phone in the room with the toilet, for those “bathroom emergencies” I suppose. As in most hotels nowadays, there was a hairdryer and some nice Gilchrist & Soames toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion.
Room View of the Pools
My room in the Octavius Tower had a beautiful view of the Caesars Palace pools. The pools cover a five acre area and include seven different pools to choose from. You can also take advantage of cabanas, daybeds, and many other amenities at the pools. The pool is free for hotel guests, but a pass can be purchased even if you are not staying at the hotel. If you are looking for a view of the Bellagio Fountains, then I would highly suggest a room in the Augustus Tower!
Activities and Restaurants
In the middle of the various hotel towers, Caesars Palace has a huge casino floor with just about any game, slot, sports bet you care to try. And when you get hungry, there are food choices of just about any kind ranging from fast food and snacks, to Italian, Chinese, a steak house, and much more. Take a look at the list of restaurants on their website and you will surely find something that hits the spot!
I was at Caesars Palace for two nights in September of 2020 and I enjoyed my stay there! I would definitely stay there again with just one change, I don’t think I will stay in the Octavius Tower again. As I said, the room was very nice, but I did prefer the Augustus Tower with the Fountain view, but mostly for ease of access from the lobby.

Hello! Just curious, what’s an estimate of the extra fees when you arrive at the hotel?
Hi. At Caesars Palace there is a resort fee of $45 and you will pay sales tax on the room and resort fee. If you are Diamond status or above at CET then the resort fee will be waived.
