This past week I was traveling to visit family near Nashville, Tennessee. I booked a one night stay at the Hampton Inn by Hilton, located in Bellevue/Nashville Tennessee. The location was perfect for me as it was very close to where my family lived but also not far from downtown Nashville. And being a bit further out of Nashville, it was also less expensive than anything else you would find downtown.
This was the first time that I had traveled since the start of all of the country-wide lock-downs, so I was a bit nervous as to what to expect and whether I would be safe. I will say that the management at the Hampton Inn did a wonderful job to keep everyone safe and healthy! Everyone was super friendly when I checked in. The staff and all guests were wearing masks and that is now a requirement in all of Tennessee. The desk clerk made sure to let me know of all of the procedures they had set up to keep all their guests safe! I was also able to check in a few hours early with no extra charge.
King Room
My first impression when I walked into the room was that it just smelled and looked CLEAN! The door had a sticker across the frame to note that it had been cleaned and sanitized. I had reserved a King Room, nonsmoking, and was surprised to find that I received one of the larger King rooms with a sleeper sofa.
The bed was very comfortable! Even the pillows were super comfy, and I am very picky about pillows to the point that I pack my own travel pillow. I’m happy to say that in this case, I didn’t have to use it!
Bathroom
The bathroom also looked extra clean. It was a basic bathroom but had all the amenities that I needed. Their was a tub/shower combination and a big plus was the great water pressure! They provided a nice assortment of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and even mouthwash.
Amenities
The room also had a microwave and a small refrigerator. When I travel, I like to bring my own sodas, or iced coffees, etc, so I truly appreciate a refrigerator. I did not use the microwave, but if I had stayed more than one night, that might have come in handy. There was also a single cup coffee maker, which under normal conditions I usually use. However, with the COVID situation right now, I decided to bring some canned iced coffee for my morning drink. The only thing I did not see was a safe.
One additional item that really caught my attention was the TV remote. I always pack a few ziplock type bags in my suitcase. And even before all of the COVID problems, I would always put the TV remote into one of those bags and use it that way during my stay. You always hear how the TV remote is one of the dirtiest items in a hotel room. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel had already covered the remote in a disposable plastic bag.
The hotel also had an outdoor pool, which was open. And they provided a hot breakfast in the morning and a 24-hour coffee station. Breakfast was not as extensive as it would normally be, but it still included your choice of an omelet, bacon, sausage, fruit, orange juice, coffee, and pastries. You can not currently server yourself, but they will take your order and bring you your breakfast that you can eat there or get it in a to-go container. I didn’t have time for breakfast, but they provided me with a Snack Bag that contained orange juice, a pastry, granola bar, and a bottle of water.
Summary
In summary, I would definitely stay here again the next time that I am in the area, and I told the desk clerk as much. The GM was also in the lobby when I was leaving, and I was able to have a nice chat with him. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the service was great!
The price was also very reasonable, and I would recommend signing up for the Hilton Honors Rewards program when you make a reservation. Doing that only took a couple of minutes and saved me a few more dollars.
I did a short room walk-through video and you can see that here:
