Since I had a full day to kill in Miami before getting on the cruise ship, what better way for a gambler to do that then to visit the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida. If you’ve never been here, this is the one with the hotel that is shaped like a guitar. And at night when it lights up, it is beautiful!
Food Options
There are quite a few nice restaurants to eat at as well as a food court. The food court is reasonably priced and has choices from sandwiches, to burgers, to pizza, to Italian, and more. I tried a slice of mushroom pizza from the Pizza/Italian place and it was delicious!
There is also a beautiful outside area with a large pool section and garden area. There is also an outdoor light display at night that lights up the “Guitar”. And a beautiful indoor water display with music that plays every few hours during the day. If you do get to the Hard Rock, be sure to check out those displays. Casino Play
I did not stay in the hotel, so I can’t report on that. However, the casino is huge and beautiful. They have just about every slot machine ever made, as well as video poker, lots of table games, and also a good-sized poker room. I had a few hours to kill, so I played some slots and video poker. I did not have a whole lot of luck that day, but I did have a great time. And it was a good warmup for the casino on the cruise ship.
I am hoping to be able to stay at the hotel the next time I’m in the area. I will definitely do a report on this site if I do get that opportunity. In the meantime, take a look at the video from my day at Hard Rock Hollywood, Florida.
