With this view today it looks like a good day to leave. Gloomy, kind of like my gambling week. LOL
Although I had some highlights and some wins, the wins were not enough to cover the losses. All in though, I’m only down about $500 for the 3 nights here, and that’s not bad. It would have cost me that much or more if I had paid for the room and all the food. So a good trip overall. I’m getting on the road shortly. I’ll do a wrap up once I’m home!
I made it back home after a long, dreary, boring drive. Why does the drive home always feel so much longer? Thankfully, I had some Tim’s coffee, Timbits, and my books on audible to keep me company. Even though the trip was not technically a “winning” trip, I had a great time! I very much enjoyed my time in Canada! Never ran into an unfriendly person (except maybe border control). I really like the casino, although I wish it had a larger VP section. If you like slots, you will find just about anything there. And it’s non-smoking, which is a plus for me. The one minus was having to pay for alcohol!
I was hoping to get out to the river walk on Friday, but the weather was cold and windy so I decided to skip that. I did get out there on my last trip while I was there over the summer, and it’s a nice walk! I also took the 2-hour boat cruise up and down the river and that was fun, plus some very interesting history.
The hotel was great as well. The room was really nice, bed was comfortable, and having a fridge and coffee maker is always nice. Housekeeping was a bit iffy, but I don’t usually care about daily housekeeping anyway. There is currently renovation going on in the Forum tower, so there was some noise at times, but never at night. So just be aware if you are planning an overnight trip there. The restaurants are all good, but they could use a few more, especially on show nights. And the Diamond lounge was just so-so.
Customs going back home was super easy. All he asked was did I buy anything that I’m bringing back, and what was my purpose for the trip.
And now that I’m back, it’s back to reading other trip reports until my next trip. Other than some local runs, I don’t have anything big planned until January, and then it’s back to Vegas and hopefully another Trip Report.
Until then!! And thanks for following along with me. It makes me feel like I have company on the trip!!
