Do you enjoy going to the casino? If you do, what is your go-to game? Do you prefer the fun and variety of slots? All the bells and whistles and bonuses definitely attract a lot of people. Do you like to play video poker? It’s not as visually stimulating, but it is much more mentally stimulating. And it does have a bit of a lower house edge. Or are you a table games player? There are now so many different games available, and the casinos are constantly coming out with new ones. Let’s look into a few of these choices.
Slot Machines
Slot machines started out as just basic 3-reel machines or sometimes called “One-Eyed Bandits.” Over the years, they have evolved into today’s multi-faceted entertainment machines. You can bet anywhere from a few pennies up to hundreds of dollars on one spin. There are games made after popular movies or TV shows, like the Walking Dead or The Wizard of Oz. Some slot machines have features that will pop up, or bonus rounds where you can play free spins and even win a Progressive Jackpot. And while you are spinning the slots will play catchy music to have you humming along and to keep you coming back!
Video Poker
Video poker has been around for many years, and it started out as a basic single line game. Years ago, you had to fee quarters into the machine to play. Now all games accept bills up to $100 and when you cash out, they will spit out a piece of paper called a TITO (ticket in – ticket out). Slot machines also operate this same way now.
There are now many variations of the basic poker game. You can play a 3-line version, 5-line version, all the way up to 100-lines. There are specialty games such as Ultimate X, Super Times Pay, Extra Draw Frenzy. These games usually charge you extra coins in order to activate the additional features of the game. This gives you the chance to win more, or receive multipliers during the game play. All of these different versions and features are to keep players interested and coming back!
Table Games
There are many different types of table games that you can play at the casino. You have your standards such as BlackJack, Roulette, Craps, and PaiGow. BlackJack and Craps are definitely one of the best games to play if you want to minimize the house edge! And PaiGow is a great game for beginners. It’s easy to learn, plays at a fairly slow pace, and also has a decent house edge.
Then you have what many people call Carnival Games. These are the games such as Three Card Poker, Let It Ride, Mississippi Stud, Ultimate Texas HoldEm. These do have a higher house edge, but I will say they are a lot of fun. In my opinion, BlackJack can get a bit boring after playing it for a while. But the carnival games bring a bit of extra action!
